As of the end of 2021, the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund has ceased active fundraising. The pandemic is far from over and the World Health Organization’s needs remain great, as COVID-19 continues to have a devastating and uneven impact on countries around the world. Those interested in donating to support WHO and its partners’ response efforts to COVID-19 and other health emergencies can still do so via the WHO Foundation.
We remain deeply grateful to all who donated to the Solidarity Response Fund in support of WHO’s global pandemic response. Donations to the Fund have supported WHO’s work, along with its partners, to suppress transmission, reduce exposure, counter misinformation, protect the vulnerable, reduce mortality and morbidity, and accelerate equitable access to new COVID-19 tools.
An independent evaluation of the Fund was completed in late 2021. The evaluation found that the Fund was “highly successful in meeting the moment early and positioning itself effectively to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.” The evaluation is viewable here.

The COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for World Health Organization (WHO) was powered by the UN Foundation and Swiss Philanthropy Foundation in its first year (March 2020 – March 2021) and the WHO Foundation in its second year (March 2021 – December 2021). The Fund benefitted from active collaboration with a global network of fiduciary partners.
